Hello, NO2ID supporters!

I'm writing to you now to ask you to join NO2ID if you haven't done so
already, not least because we *really* need your cash. Our fundraising
efforts to date have paid for leaflets, pamphlets and other campaign
literature - but as we reach out nationally, we'll need more... a lot
more!

We are organising and attending events throughout the Autumn, starting
with the launch on September 18th
(http://www.no2id.net/events/launch.html) and continuing into the Party
Conferences. As you might imagine, this all costs money that we (as a
bunch of volunteers) simply don't have. Your support, even if it's only
a few quid a month, will give the campaign a baseline income with which
we can begin to mount an effective and sustained campaign against the
government's proposals.

Adam McGreggor (National Secretary) will shortly be sending out notice
of NO2ID's inaugural Annual General Meeting. You will note that this is
a members-only meeting of the campaign organisation. This is because of
the rules governing unincorporated Associations, which is how NO2ID is
legally constituted.

Why should I join?

If you want to have a say in the organisation of the campaign, or wish
to vote for Honorary Officers (your representatives) then you *have* to
be a member. If you wish to run for election or be appointed to the
Executive Committee, then you *have* to be a member.

Just as importantly, if you support the goals of the campaign, becoming
a member provides essential funds for NO2ID activities. If you are going
to give us any money at all then please bear in mind that NO2ID is
liable for tax on donations, but does not pay tax on membership fees...

How do I join?

Individual membership starts at 15 GBP per annum (with an 8 GBP
concessionary rate). We have deliberately set the rate low to make
membership affordable to as many people as possible, but encourage you
to pay whatever you feel you can afford.

1) You can set up a regular payment via online or telephone banking. Our
account is an HSBC Treasurer account named 'NO2ID', sort code 40-28-15,
acount number 91339427. Please provide your bank with a Reference Number
or Name by which we can identify you (e.g. "YourName"!) and when you
have done it, please notify me by e-mail (to phil at no2id.net) with the
details - including your address, the amount and day of the month it is
paid.

2) You can download a membership form from
http://www.no2id.net/content/join.html - fill it in and send it (with
your cheque, if you are making a one-off payment) to the address on the
form. *** Standing Orders are our preferred method of payment ***

3) You can make a donation of £15 or over to our PayPal account at
http://www.no2id.net/content/donate.html . Please do let us know your
address & contact details, if you want to be a member.

4) Alternatively you can just send a cheque, payable to "NO2ID" to:

If you aren't sending a form, don't forget to include your name, address
(or at least postcode) and e-mail address so that we can contact you. It
is our policy not to pass on the details of members and supporters to
