A number of NO2ID protestors will be branded with barcodes from 11.30am tomorrow morning to symbolise the type of society that will be created if the government's plans for ID cards become law.
Proposals for a national identity card are expected to be unveiled in the Queen's Speech tomorrow.
The branding will take place at Parliament Square and will be carried out by an individual in a Tony Blair mask.
The protestors will be wearing T-shirts asserting that they are NOT THE PROPERTY OF HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT.
Giant identity cards - one showing Mr Blunkett and one showing Mr Blair - will also be on display.
Mark Littlewood, NO2ID's national co-ordinator said:
The government's plans for identity cards represent an enormous threat to privacy and liberty in the UK. The creation of a national database, which is bound to grow over time, is the moral equivalent of barcoding the entire population. The Home Secretary needs to understand that opposition to ID cards is growing - the more people hear about his proposals, the less they like them. In the run-up to a General Election, the government should reflect very carefully about exactly how many more enemies it wishes to make.
A press conference with NO2ID spokespeople and leading parliamentarians will take place from 1.30pm at Room W4 in the Houses of Parliament.

The "branding" will involve the use of an ink roller that prints sizeable barcodes onto human skin.
